Day 23.
March 9th, 2010
An old saying. Very appropriate today.
Yesterday I made a big mistake. Big.
Every night, I upload the day’s painting and set up the newsletter for the next morning. So yesterday’s painting was uploaded Sunday night, and you’re reading this on Tuesday, but I’m writing it on Monday night.
As you know, on Sunday everyone wins. (Which is one of my favorite parts of this project really.) But that also means Sunday is a pretty busy day for me. So Sunday night, after painting a few extra paintings, I was pretty tired and very hungry.
When I went to setup yesterday’s painting, I pulled up the template, wrote out the story and uploaded the image. But– here’s the mistake– it was the wrong image.
See? That’s a problem. A big one. And I didn’t notice it until someone emailed and said, “Umm, Jolie? I think that painting looks familiar.” And then I put my head between my knees for awhile.
Thankfully, yesterday’s winner was gracious and all-around super and we’ve come up with a plan that makes us both happy. I managed to pull it out and make it a win-win situation, because she gets the painting she wants and I get to paint more (I like to paint).
So that’s a short explanation for those of you who noticed that yesterday’s story didn’t quite match yesterday’s image. Here’s the painting you were supposed to see.
I decided that there’s no use crying over spilled milk. (Ha!) We’ll resume normal programming tomorrow. Hope your day is terrific.
